When we say "us," we really mean "me" -- because to be absolutely honest this is a one-man show. That is, if you don't include my wife Mary who edits my copy, illlustrates my works, motivates me, "mans" the back table, kicks me in the fanny when I need it, ... you get the idea. So maybe it is about "us" after all.
For the past several years I've interviewed, researched, and written about more than 100 men and women in their 40s, 50s, 60s , 70s, 80s, and even a couple in their 90s who have significantly slowed the aging process. Many of these Masters of Fitness have actually grown younger -- biologically and physiologically speaking -- for a period of years. They are not just in great shape for their age, but rather IN BETTER SHAPE THAN MOST 20 AND 30-YEAR-OLDS.
The documented proof is their age-defying athletic feats of endurance, strength, and speed. Ray Piva , for example, ran 109 miles in the 2003 USA Track & Field 24-Hour National Championships -- as a 77-year-old! How many young adults have the endurance and stamina to keep up with Ray?
